Hannes Schuster has recently taken over the reins of the Schuster winery from his mother, Rosi, although she is often seen in the vineyards alongside her son. Together, they have 9 hectares of vines that are spread out amongst the oldest vineyards in Saint Margarethen in Burgenland, Austria. Hannes' style has been very influenced by Roland Velich of Moric under whose tutelage he remained for ten years. The Saint Laurent, another native Austrian varietal, is what has put Schuster on the map. A relative of pinot noir, this is a light-medium bodied wine marked by wonderful acidity.
