The Gamay for this wine comes from a small 2 ha plot, tended to with Organic practices, planted to super-steep Southeast-facing slopes on the sides and top of Mount Brouilly (385-484m in altitude), and are from 70+ year old vines. Hand-harvested (there's no other way to get the grapes), they see 14 days of semi-carbonic maceration, and are wild-yeast fermented in cement tanks, where they sit for 10 months on their lees. After another 2 years of bottle ageing, they are released to the market. The wine offers juicy dark red and blue fruits on a medium frame with a long finish and surprising complexity.
