The 2014 Monsecco Gattinarsa is mildly bricked which might seem old at first, but once the nose comes out it's fully ready and out for the night with gorgeous and seductive notes of old orange skin oils melted in between raisins and dried sage. Layer upon layer of scorched earth, tootsie roll pop and Moroccan leather. On the palate there is sizzling acid; ripe but firm tannins that have great length; mouth watering and crunchy. For the price, would be hard to find anything better out there.
